Tax-dodging Tate brothers slapped with £2million fine

SOCIAL media influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan were yesterday fined more than £2million for tax evasion.

The controversial brothers failed to pay money owed from their businesses between 2014 and 2022.

Devon and Cornwall Police brought a case to Westminster Magistrates' Court, arguing tax is owed on £21million of revenue.

Chief Magistrate Paul Goldspring ruled that police could seize money held in seven frozen bank accounts.

The judge said what appeared to be a "complex financial matrix" was actually a "straightforward cheat of the revenue". In his written ruling, he added: "I am satisfied on the balance of probabilities that they have engaged in long-standing, deliberate conduct in order to evade their tax."
