Taiwo's in heaven after injury hell

NOTTINGHAM FOREST striker Taiwo Awoniyi insists he never lost faith he could still cut it in the Premier League after a nightmare year.

The Nigerian scored his first topflight goal since January 2025 when he put the seal on Forest's 2-0 win at Brentford on Sunday.

Coming off the bench at the Gtech Community Stadium represented only a ninth appearance of the season for Awoniyi.

And finding the back of the net was a magical moment for the forward who sustained a serious abdominal injury toward the end of last term.
