DAME LAURA'S HOPE FOR HOY IN GLASGOW
DAME LAURA KENNY has a special wish for Sir Chris Hoy at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow next year.
Britain’s greatest female cyclist wants to see Hoy afforded a lap of honour in his eponymous velodrome and to feel the love of his people raining down from the tribunes.
The six-time Olympic champion’s devastating revelation last October that he has terminal prostate cancer is a shattering blow to those of us who thought he was unbeatable on a bike and indestructible in everyday life.
A spin around the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, his lasting gift to cycling, is the least he deserves following a valiant campaign to highlight the silent killer which will blight one in eight men.
