Honeyball stable target a third win in Veterans'

GUSTAVIAN (3.05) gets the vote in the £100,000 Unibet Veterans’ Handicap Chase over three miles at Sandown Park.

Trained by Anthony Honeyball, who likes to target this race, the 11-year-old enjoys a sound surface and conditions are the quickest they have been since 2016.

Jepeck (2020) and Sam Brown (2024) took this for the stable when the mud was flying and my selection is expected to try and lead all the way.

That was the case in the 64th Badger Beers Handicap Chase at Wincanton 56 days ago, when he quickened clear in the closing stages to score by nine-and-a-half lengths.
