Strictly Craig: Dance was my only escape from abuse at home

STRICTLY Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood has spoken of "abuse" he suffered as a child at the hands of his alcoholic dad.

The star, 60, also said dance was his "only escape".

He made the admission on Good Morning Britain yesterday after talking about his childhood on his new UK tour.

He told the ITV show: "My father was an alcoholic. I do talk about that in the show because that led me towards the dancing.

"And anyone at home I know that's watching this that has dealt with alcoholism, it's really, really tough, and we were abused as children, and my whole family was, and that was my only escape.
