Strict limit on fishing mackerel

SCIENTISTS have called for mackerel fishing in the northeast Atlantic to be cut by 70% next year to avoid a stock collapse.
The International Council for the Exploration of the Sea recommends a 2026 catch limit of 174,357 tonnes, down from 576,958 for this year.
