Listless loss a wake-up call warns Son

HEUNG-MIN SON said Tottenham were served a wake-up call after last night's stinker threatened to ruin their last hope of silverware.

Lucas Bergvall's own-goal leaves Ange Postecoglou's men with a deficit to turn around in next Thursday's second leg and the biggest positive was that AZ Alkmaar could not convert their chances into more goals.

This was a sloppy and careless display from Spurs as their attack was restricted to a solitary attempt on target and the defence was made to suffer by former striker Troy Parrott.

Son said: "It's very disappointing. It was a big wake-up call. It was very sloppy, not performing the way we should.
