Shop boss tied up during robbery killed himself 'as a direct result'

THE manager of a jewellery shop took his life as a result of a robbery in which he was tied up as watches worth more than £1.3million were stolen, a court was told yesterday.

THE manager of a jewellery shop took his life as a result of a robbery in which he was tied up as watches worth more than £1.38million were stolen, a court was told yesterday.

Oliver White, 27, was also put in a headlock when more than 70 highvalue items were taken from the 247 Kettles shop in Richmond, SouthWest London, jurors heard.

Junior Kunu, 30, and Mannix Pedro, 37, went on trial at Woolwich Crown Court yesterday charged with conspiring with others to commit the robbery on May 25 last year.

Edward Brown KC, prosecuting, said Mr White was left with "visible reddening around his neck and wrist".
