Scout master who spent 27 years on run convicted of abusing boys

A FORMER children's home worker and scout leader has been found guilty of sexual offences against boys after 27 years on the run.

Richard Burrows, 80, was held after flying into Heathrow from Thailand where he boasted of "living in paradise" since fleeing Britain in 1997 when he faced justice over his crimes.

Yesterday he was remanded in custody after being found guilty of 54 offences including indecent assault and serious sexual assaults. He had already admitted another 43 offences, including indecent assault of boys, making and possessing indecent images of children, and possession of false identity documents with intent, at a previous hearing.
