Reeves 'accepts Treasury to-do list rejected by predecessors'

RACHEL Reeves has been accused of bowing to Treasury mandarins by adopting hated policies they favour such as means-testing winter fuel cash.

The Chancellor is understood to have been handed a "politically explosive" list including increasing fuel duty and suspending the triple lock state pension protection.

Axing farmers' inheritance tax agricultural property relief (APR) and applying IHT to pensions were also said to be on it.

Ms Reeves has already scrapped the winter fuel payment for up to 10 million OAPs and changed APR. IHT will apply to pensions from April 2027.

It comes as she tries to woo investors at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, this week.
