Record 160 a day cancer cases caused by smoking

CANCER cases caused by smoking have reached an all-time high of 160 per day after rising by 17% since 2003.
Tobacco has been linked to 16 forms of the disease with the greatest increases coming in liver, throat and kidney cancer.
The latest figures included breast cancer for the first time due to growing evidence that 2,200 such cases each year are triggered by smoking.
Cancer Research UK, which produced the data, is calling on the new Government to reintroduce the Tobacco and Vapes Bill in the King's Speech on July 17.
