Putin to meet Trump after two-hour call about Ukraine

DONALD Trump is to meet Vladimir Putin in Hungary for talks about bringing the “inglorious” war in Ukraine to an end.

The US President announced the plans for face-to-face talks following a call with his controversial Russian counterpart yesterday.

In a social media post after the two-hour chat, Mr Trump said the conversation was “very productive”.

The outcome of the call may cause alarm for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

He is due to meet Mr Trump in the White House today, with the pair expected to discuss the potential supply of deadly Tomahawk missiles to assist Ukraine’s war effort.
