THE NHS is heading for a worse corridor care crisis this winter than last year, nursing leaders say.

Almost 36,000 patients waited longer than 12 hours in A&E in August, up 26% from 28,500 during the same month last year. And the Royal College of Nursing warned the number of people facing long waits is edging up even before the weather turns.
