But new Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior has branded suggestions of a Cole Palmer move to Manchester United as “so unrealistic”.

Rosenior was not so forthcoming on the future of out-of-favour winger Sterling, who is understood to be in discussions to leave ahead of the transfer window closing on Monday.

The Blues boss said of the 31-year-old former England winger: “I've said what I've had to say ‘on Raheem. He's a player I have massive respect for.

“Huge respect for as a person and what he's achieved in the game. Now is not the right time to speak about his situation.”
