Officers empty-handed in 8mph chase

A MOBILITY scooter driver managed to give police the slip following an 8mph chase along a busy dual carriageway.

Concerned motorists dialled 999 after spotting the man on the A14 in Northamptonshire.

Mobile phone footage shows drivers taking evasive action as he ambled along the major route for at least two miles.

The man had taken to the open road at Junction 6 at Rothwell, causing hooting and shouts from worried drivers.
