SINGER Tony Christie's granddaughter has revealed how their love of music has helped him as he lives with dementia. Deia Fitzgerald, 18, visits the singer, 82, and his wife Sue almost daily.

SINGER Tony Christie's granddaughter has revealed how their love of music has helped him as he lives with dementia.

Deia Fitzgerald, 18, visits the (Is This the Way to) Amarillo singer, 82, and his wife Sue almost daily.

She often spends time with her grandfather listening to music through a smart speaker bought by the family after his diagnosis.

Tony, from Lichfield, Staffs, revealed to his fans in January 2023 that he had the condition.

He has since been raising awareness of through the Music for Dementia charity, stressing how music helps prompt memories.
