Murder victim Libby's mother demands tougher sentences for lower-level sexual offences

THE mother of murdered university student Libby Squire is demanding tougher sentences to stop would-be rapists and killers in their tracks.

Libby, 21, was abducted, raped and killed by Polish butcher Pawel Relowicz, who had become "emboldened" after his lowerlevel sex crimes went unchecked.

Lisa Squire told MPs sitting on the Commons Home Affairs Committee yesterday that sentences for offences such as indecent exposure must be "harsher" than the current "slap on the wrist".
