Mum's 21 years in jail for killing her two children

A CANNABIS addict mother who drowned her two young sons before tucking them into bed for their father to find has been jailed for life.

Kara Alexander, 47, was in a “psychotic state” after smoking skunk when she murdered Marley, five, and Elijah, two, in the bath at the family’s home in Dagenham, East London.

Jurors heard the father, Selvin Thomas, described finding the youngsters’ bodies in December 2022 as “the stuff of nightmares”.

Mr Thomas turned up when he did not receive responses to his messages to Alexander, whom he had split from three months earlier.
