MP backs Brianna's mum call for social media ban

A CAMPAIGN by the mother of murdered teen Brianna Ghey for a ban on under-16s using social media has been backed by a leading MP.

Miriam Cates had already asked Rishi Sunak if he agreed it is time to consider barring the age group from the platforms and even smartphones.

After Brianna's sadistic killers were jailed for life, Esther Ghey told the BBC she wants the Government to stop children having access to social media apps on their phones.

She said it is "just not do-able" for parents to monitor children's usage and the content they access.

The trial heard that Warrington killer Scarlett Jenkinson was just 14 when she downloaded a browser to watch videos of murders.
