Licence to kill BBC's big racket

Time to abolish it, he wrote. Pay-to-view, like we do everything else, Sky, Netflix etc, or go commercial. Let advertisers and sponsors pick up the tab.

On Thursday the Beeb offered to cut the price of the licence, provided more people bought one. Still wedded to the tax, then.

And the more I think about it, the more ridiculous it feels to have to pay not far south of £200 purely to have a telly in your home (assuming you watch BBC programmes on it). Especially now the Netflix boss has entered the debate (more on that in a moment).
