Legend Jimmy's warning for big spenders Chelsea

JIMMY Floyd Hasselbaink has warned some of Mauricio Pochettino's Chelsea recruits may never live up to their huge price tags.

Another £350million has been spent on an already bloated squad at Stamford Bridge this summer to take their spending over £800m since owner Todd Boehly took charge in May last year.

None of that has been spent on an out-and-out striker - possibly the hardest position to fill.

Hasselbaink, below, did just that when he joined Chelsea in 2000 for £15m at the time an English transfer record.

He rattled in more than a goal every other game, winning the Golden Boot in his second season.

But the Dutchman warned some of the signings made by Pochettino the fourth full-time manager in Boehly's short reign - will never make that sort of impact.
