ENTREPRENEUR Louise Duerr, 59, was pleased to see a reform of business rates at the Budget, but has no idea yet what it will mean in pounds and pence.

She currently pays £700 a month for her Gift + Home shop in the centre of Altrincham, Greater Manchester. And that is on top of £3,000 rent and a service charge for being in a shopping centre.

"Business rates have always been unfair, particularly with the rise of online sales and the little amount that big, out-of-town distribution sheds like Amazon pay," she told the Express.
