QUESTIONS, questions, questions. Our lives are full of them. But a good TV documentary can play an important role in helping us find answers.

At the very least, it will make us stop and think.

There's the question of whether there's life elsewhere in the universe, for example. There's the question of whether our own planet is in crisis and, if so, whether disparate nations might yet pull together to save it.

But the question being asked tonight, in a major investigation on 5, expands our horizons further still, exploring a subject that perplexes even the greatest minds on Earth, such is its weight and complexity.
