Andrew Malkinson had his conviction quashed in 2023 after DNA evidence proved he was not the man who savagely attacked a 33-year-old woman in Salford, Greater Manchester, during the early hours of July 19, 2003.

The victim was dragged down a motorway embankment and strangled until unconscious before being raped.
