'I'm scared, Dad's drunk...final call of autistic boy to mum

A TERRIFIED boy of 12 phoned his mother to say "I'm scared - Dad's drunk" seconds before he was killed trying to cross one of the country's busiest motorways.

Callum Rycroft, who had autism, was mowed down as he tried to follow his father Matthew across the M62 after he had drunkenly crashed their car on a service station slip road.

Callum was earlier heard shouting "Dad won't stop" during a panicstricken call to his grandparents as his father weaved across the carriageway before ordering him to hang up.

The boy then phoned his mother, Claire, moments before being hit at speed by a car while trying to cross the eastbound carriageway of the motorway between junctions 25 and 26 in West Yorkshire at about 9.50pm on Saturday, August 5.
