INTREPID adventurer and ex-SAS soldier Bear Grylls has revealed he has a fear of TV cameras.

'I'd love to do adventures without the TV cameras'

The small-screen star says he hates being filmed so much that his camera-men and women have learnt do it surreptitiously.

And he never watches his shows because it crushes his self-esteem.

He said: "I get really self-conscious, I really do. I really don't like it, and it's taken me a while to be honest about that.

"I really struggle with it and it dents my confidence. I start to doubt myself.

"I never watch any of our TV shows back now. I just forget about that.

"And when we're filming, the crew know that nobody's ever going 'Action' or anything like that.
