Horner axed as Red Bull F1 team boss

CHRISTIAN Horner has been dropped by the Red Bull Formula One racing team just over a year after a WhatsApp message scandal.

Horner, 51, was relieved of his duties as team principal yesterday, with Racing Bulls chief Laurent Mekies named as his replacement.

Horner had been in charge since Red Bull's arrival in F1 back in 2005, but his position has been a topic of constant speculation and uncertainty over the past 18 months.

And he was told by his wife, Spice Girl Geri Halliwell, to make the controversy "all go away".
