HARRY MAGUIRE said the sight of Lyon's players celebrating like they had won served to inspire Manchester United's epic Europa League comeback win.

United blew a 2-0 lead to trail 4-2 at Old Trafford before scoring three goals in the last seven minutes of extra-time to win 5-4 and go through in dramatic style.

The incredible finale saw United book a semi-final tie with Athletic Bilbao and keep alive their hopes of ending a shambolic season on a high by winning a trophy.

Maguire, who scored the stoppage-time winner, said it was the "maddest game" he has played in and claimed Lyon's players celebrating as though they were through was all the motivation United needed.

The defender said: "It was the 109th minute when they scored their fourth goal. They thought they'd won it, the way they were celebrating.
