Grooming gang plied teenage girls with booze and raped them

GROOMING gang members who organised sex parties where teenage girls were raped and viewed as “fresh meat” have been convicted by a jury.

Ivorian Romuald Houphouet and Zimbabwean migrant Absolom Sigiyo lured their two young victims to the parties, where they were given so much alcohol they were sick.

Houphouet, 37, and Sigiyo, 42, were found guilty yesterday of raping the girls more than 10 years ago.

Sigiyo also intimidated one of the victims in an attempt to stop her supporting the National Crime Agency’s Operation Stovewood investigation, the five-week trial at Sheffield Crown Court heard.
