Girl, 16, died of brain blood clot after gomeg on the Pill

A GIRL of 16 has died from a blood clot on her brain after taking the Pill to ease severe period pain.

College student Layla Khan suffered from serious discomfort and was advised to take the contraceptive Pill by pals. Her family said she started it on November 25 but by December 5 she began having headaches and by the end of the week she was vomiting.

Relatives said when they contacted the NHS 111 helpline they were told they should take her for a check-up at a GP surgery the following morning.
