Executive wins £5,500 for boss's menopausal remark

A SENIOR executive at a tech firm has been awarded £5,500 compensation after her boss accused her of raising concerns about the business because she was "menopausal".

Debbie Thomas, 53, was the victim of age and sex discrimination and harassment, an employment tribunal ruled.

It heard that Ms Thomas "upset" her chief executive Shiraz Jessa when she warned him that the mobile payments firm he founded was in trouble.

This led to a "souring" in their relationship, with Mr Jessa blaming her behaviour on the menopause, the hearing was told. Ms Thomas, then 51, resigned and successfully sued the company - Bibimoney.
