Europe bid to speed up military aid for Ukraine

EUROPE is planning to fast track arms and aid shipments to Ukraine in case they are stopped as part of a peace settlement with Russia.

A fresh £34billion military aid package was last night being finalised by European leaders ahead of a special two-day summit which begins tomorrow.

The proposal aims to deliver two million rounds of artillery ammunition this year along with air defence systems, deep-precision strike missiles, drones and other weapons.

The frenetic pace of discussions mirrors the speedy actions of former US president Joe Biden.
