Borthwick recalls wing man & backs golden oldie for World Cup place

ELLIOT DALY was recalled to the England team after nearly five months out then backed by boss Steve Borthwick to get to the next World Cup - aged 35.

Daly suffered a gruesome broken left arm when the Lions played the Reds on July 2 in Brisbane and was flown home to have 16 screws and a plate put in.

But now Tom Roebuck is sidelined with a foot injury after England's 33-19 win over New Zealand - so Daly is back on the wing against Argentina on Sunday without a game under his belt.

The 33-year-old is a massive asset come World Cups with his ability to play centre, wing and fullback and Borthwick predicts he will be the same at Australia 2027 and beyond.
