Domesday Book villages being threatened by huge solar farm

Firm may ‘require’ properties

RESIDENTS in three villages that appear in the Domesday Book of 1086 fear they will be forced out to make way for the country’s biggest solar farm.

Dozens of residents of Hempnall, Saxlingham and Tasburgh in Norfolk received letters from a developer saying their homes may be “required”.

The East Pye solar project would cover 2,500 acres — the size of 1,762 football pitches — and is 10 times bigger than the current largest site in Flint-shire, North Wales.
