Connell leads tributes as sport mourns ‘devastating' loss of popular young rider
MICHAEL O'SULLIVAN was described as "a bright star" as the racing community mourned the passing of the Cheltenham Festivalwinning jockey yesterday.
The 24-year-old was airlifted to Cork University Hospital, where he was treated in the intensive care unit after a fall at Thurles on February 6, but never regained consciousness.
O'Sullivan rose to prominence when partnering the Barry Connelltrained Marine Nationale to land the Supreme Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham in March 2023.
