Cancer drugs 'could help tackle dementia'

TWO cancer drugs could be combined to treat the most common form of dementia, research suggests.

Scientists say that a blend of two medications can potentially reverse the changes that occur in the brain during Alzheimer's.

A trial found the mix of drugs reduced brain degeneration in mice - and even restored their ability to remember.

The study, which used publicly available data and the medical records of 1.4 million over-65s, initially looked at how Alzheimer's altered gene expression in single cells in the human brain.
