Burgess briefcase in MI5 display

THIS briefcase that spy Guy Burgess left behind as he fled to Moscow in 1951 is among MI5 artefacts being displayed to the public for the first time.

The MI5: Official Secrets exhibition features items from the security agency's collection plus declassified papers and is at the National Archives in Kew, South West London.

Sir Ken McCallum, MI5 director general, said the exhibition is part of its "ongoing commitment to being open wherever we can".
