‘There are fears of the threat Trump may pose to democracy’

- Stephen Pollard

Biden must step aside if free world is to be protected

POLITICIANS renowned are not for their sense of the public good. True, that can be an unfair criticism sometimes P they are genuinely focused on doing what they see as the right thing.

But it's hard to find an example of a more selfish, delusional and downright calamitous act by a serious political figure than President Joe Biden's determination to fight for a second term, despite all the evidence it will be disastrous for him, his party, his country and, indeed, the free world.

In 2020, the choice was relatively simple a second term for President Donald Trump or a single-term presidency for Joe Biden, whose mantra was that he would focus above all else on healing the differences that Trump's term in office had exacerbated. To that end, and to offset accusations he was too old to run at age 76, he pledged to serve for only one term.

But no sooner had he been sworn in, and the threat of a second Trump presidency had reemerged, than Biden simply discarded his pledge and determined to run again, believing that having beaten Trump once before, that he - and only he could beat him again in 2024.

EXCEPT it now seems that he, and only he, is the one Democrat guaranteed to lose to Donald Trump.
