A BAFTA-winning TV producer died by suicide after receiving an NHS letter about his cancer diagnosis, an inquest has heard.

Daniel Postgate, 61 — son of the late Bagpuss co-creator Oliver Postgate — was found dead in a shed at his home.

The “kind and talented” dad of two, who relaunched The Clangers in 2015, had a 40-year history of depression and anxiety and was often “preoccupied” by his physical health, his brother Simon said.
