Army beefs up 'woke' fitness tests for troops

SOLDIERS face tougher training if they do not meet fitness standards after assessment tests were branded "woke."
Top brass removed pass or fail grades five years ago under the Soldier Conditioning Review, designed to take a scientific approach to fitness.
But it was criticised for being "easier" than the test it replaced.
Now minimum standards mean those who fail must carry out remedial physical training every day.
