Aquarium's revamp for penguins 'not good enough'

AN aquarium under fire for its “dungeon” penguin enclosure is still holding them “captive” in an inadequate habitat despite a revamp, say animal campaigners.

Sea Life London Aquarium has repainted and deep cleaned its gentoo area. But campaigners claim it has a “shockingly poor regard for the lives of the animals” because they have no fresh air or natural light.

Isobel McNally, from Freedom for Animals group, said: “After over a year of campaigning, public protests and thousands of signatures on our petition, Sea Life’s choice to simply redecorate the gentoo penguins’ basement enclosure is simply not good enough.
