A SHOCKING 91 prisoners have been mistakenly freed since April, ministers have revealed.

- BY STEPH SPYRO and KATIE HARRIS

Justice Secretary David Lammy yesterday admitted another inmate may have been released in error just last week.

He also told the House of Commons that there are three mistakenly released prisoners currently still at large.

He said: "Their prison records show none of these are convicted sex offenders.

"I've been informed this afternoon that His Majesty's Prison and Probation Service are investigating a further case of a potential release in error on November 3, who may still be at large.

PRESSURE

"It is symptomatic of the data issues we inherited that this is all the information I have been given at this time, while police and HMPPS investigate."

The Justice Secretary told MPs that, of the three on the run, two are British nationals and one is a foreign national offender.
