SOME 82% of young adults think it is unacceptable for a parent to use force against a child.
It is a rise from 64% of people aged 18-24 polled in 2023.
The Children Act 2004 says it is unlawful to hit your child, except for “reasonable punishment”, and this is judged case-by-case.
