Hit-and-run driver went to the pub after killing woman, 76

|May 29, 2025
A FATHER-OF-TWO killed a 76-year-old woman when he reversed into her while she was walking back from the bingo.

Dylan Edmunds, 27, from Mountain Ash, fled the scene and returned to the pub after seeing he had run someone over.
Wendy Setterfield was described by her family as a “charismatic, kind-hearted and sociable” woman who would be missed by many.
Heath Edwards, prosecuting, told a hearing at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court on May 23: “Had she been seen, the tragic consequences would've been avoided.”
Mr Edwards told the court that on November 24, 2022 at around 8pm Ms Setterfield, 76, had been walking home from bingo along Church Street in Penrhiwceiber.
He explained that when she reached the junction with Winifred Street she began crossing the road but was hit and partially run over by Edmunds who had been driving down Church Street and stopped on the corner with Winifred Street before reversing.
