SOME years ago we took the kids on holiday to Florida.

- SUSAN LEE

We met Mickey Mouse, rode the rollercoasters I held the bags and we all ate more beige food than I thought possible. It was great until my husband mentioned he fancied visiting The Kennedy Space Centre.

The offspring, horrified at being denied a day at a water park, did not agree. We went anyway.

Reader, they were bored. Bored by the rockets, by the simulations and exhibitions, bored even by an up-close view of an actual launch pad. It was all, they reasoned, too much like a school science lesson.
