MIDFIELDER BLASTS HOME FREE-KICK AS SKY BLUES KEEP UP SCORING RECORD BUT ARE TWICE UNDONE BY SET-PIECES
FREE-SCORING Coventry City twice led but hosts Oxford United hit back through two set-pieces to pick up their first point of the Championship season.
Haji Wright and Victor Torp scored either side of Will Lankshear's goal for Oxford to put the Sky Blues 2-1 up at the break.
But Gary Rowett's men improved after the break and Cameron Brannagan's free-kick ensured the hosts ended a run of three successive defeats to start the campaign.
Wright hit the crossbar in injury time as the visitors almost claimed all three points.
The Sky Blues have now netted 14 goals in their last three games and while they remain unbeaten, they have conceded six.
Here are some of the big talking points from Saturday's draw at the Kassam Stadium.
Significant improvement
The Sky Blues have navigated themselves to the first international break of the 2025-26 season with double the amount of points they managed at the start of last term.
They have collected eight from two wins and two draws, a period that's yielded an impressive 14 goals amid some really encouraging attacking football. That compares to just four points from the opening four games of 2024/25.
