So close for city students

STUDENTS from the University of Warwick said they were 'crushed' after being beaten in the final of the popular quiz show University Challenge.

Oscar Siddle, Ananya Govindarajan, Thomas Hart and Benjamin Watson gave it their all in the nail-biting final but were narrowly beaten by Christs College, Cambridge.

Presenter Amol Rajan said the head-to-head was closely contested, with Warwick finishing just five points behind.

Warwick has a strong record in University Challenge, having emerged victorious in 2007 and 2021. Oscar, Ananya, Thomas, and Benjamin started the series strongly, securing impressive wins over the University of East Anglia, Oriel College, Oxford, and Queens University Belfast.
