WE TAKE A CLOSER LOOK AT THE LATEST Z FLIP AND Z FOLD SMARTPHONES FROM SAMSUNG - PLUS THE NEW GALAXY WATCH8

SAMSUNG has updated its lineup of folding smartphones and there's one word that you can use to describe them - thin.

We're into the seventh version of the Z Flip and Z Fold phones, and as initial kinks have been well and truly ironed out, we're now heading into the refinement stage. And they do look magnificent.

The latest Unpacked event at which the new phones were revealed also saw Samsung show off its next generation of smartwatch - the Galaxy Watch8.

Here's the lowdown on all three of the newcomers.

Z FOLD7

The flagship device is obviously the Z Fold7 - a phone that looks just like a regular smartphone until it's folded out to reveal the tablet-esque screen within.

The big deal this year is that the Fold7 is impressively thinner than what's come before. It's just 4.2mm thick when unfolded and 8.9mm when folded (the iPhone 16 Pro, for comparison, is 8.25mm thick).

The screens are also bigger with a 6.5in outer display and an 8in screen on show when open.
