June 03, 2025

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Monday refrained from making any direct comment on the ongoing controversy surrounding Tamil actor-politician Kamal Haasan’s remarks on the Kannada language, instead urging restraint and unity among neighbouring states.

He also expressed hope that Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) would triumph in the IPL final later in the day.

Speaking to reporters here, Shivakumar said, "Please don’t put me on the spot. What exactly are you trying to ask? I don't want to comment without knowing the full background of the issue. Let me first check the records.”
