The Union Ministry of Education (MoE) has asked the Meghalaya government to provide land for the expansion of North East Regional Institute of Education (NERIE) infrastructure in the state.

Secretary, Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education, Kumar, along with Prof. Dinesh Prasad Saklani, Director, NCERT, inaugurated the newly constructed Kanaklata Girls’ Hostel and the NERIE Guest House yesterday.
NERIE is a constituent units of the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), New Delhi, this Regional Institute of Education too, caters to the educational needs of the eight states of the North EastAssam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura.
